Ask questions anonymously, and real people answer
Some questions are easier without your name on them. In Ask on Booking Minds you show as a number, and so does whoever answers. It is a free app for iPhone and Android.
How to ask a question anonymously
Get the app
Sign up with your e-mail, Apple or Google, add a photo and say what you do. Members see those in People, and never in Ask.
Switch to Ask
The switch at the top of the map moves between People and Ask. Tap + and write your question in one line, with details if you want.
Real people answer
Whoever knows answers. They show as numbers too, and if someone used AI for an answer, it says so when they tick the box.
Keep what helps
Tap Helped me on what helps you. The answers that helped most come first, and search finds what people already answered.
What stays hidden, and what does not
- Hidden from other members: your name, your photo, your profile and your pin.
- A different number on every question, so your questions cannot be tied together by your number.
- A spot of its own. A question can sit on the map at its own spot, always several kilometres from your pin.
- What Booking Minds can see: the account behind every number. We use it to act on the rules and on reports, and we disclose it when the law requires it.
- Your own words can still give you away, so keep names, addresses and anything that points to you out.
What people ask
Questions they would rather not ask with their name on them, and questions for someone who has been there. These are examples of the kind of thing Ask is for:
Why asking feels harder than it is
Short takeaways from published studies, in our Mind library, each with a link to the study:
- Showing vulnerability looks braver from the outside
- Reaching out is appreciated more than you expect
- The fear is about starting the conversation, not having it
What is not allowed
Being anonymous changes nothing about the rules. Anything illegal or dangerous, violence, sexual content, anything sexual about minors, selling, harassment, threats and hate are not allowed. An automatic check reads questions and answers before they go out and holds what looks harmful until a person has looked. It does not catch everything, so reports matter, and we act on reports within 24 hours. How safety works.
When to ask someone else
Answers come from members, not experts we have checked. For health, law or money, ask a professional too. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number.
Questions about asking anonymously
Where can I ask questions anonymously?
In Ask on Booking Minds, a free app for iPhone and Android. You show as a number, and so does whoever answers. Other apps do this differently, and this comparison shows how.
Can I ask for advice anonymously?
Yes. Write what is going on, without names or anything that points to you. Answers come from members who tell you what they know, not from experts we have checked. For health, law or money, ask a professional too.
Is it really anonymous?
To other members, yes. They never see your name, photo, profile or pin. Booking Minds knows the account behind every number, so that the rules hold, and we disclose it when the law requires it.
Is there a website, or only an app?
Ask is inside the app, on iPhone and Android. This website explains how it works.
How fast do answers come?
Ask is new, so a question can take a while, and we cannot promise an answer. Search first, because someone may have answered it already.
Is it free, and who can use it?
It is free, with no subscriptions, for people aged 18 or older.
