The first number on the table pulls the final price toward it

The anchoring effect, one of the most replicated results in psychology: whatever number is mentioned first, even an arbitrary one, drags every later estimate toward it. In a negotiation the opening offer sets the frame both sides bargain within. Name your price first, name it with a reason, and you shape the range.

This is a short takeaway in our own words, not a reproduction of the study. For the method, the sample and the caveats, read the original. Mind lives inside the Booking Minds app under the brain icon, where you can save and share each piece.

A price the two of you agree on.

On Booking Minds you offer what a meeting is worth to you, and the other person accepts or declines. The amount is held when you offer, charged when they accept and released by a QR scan at the meeting. The person paid keeps 85%, with no payout minimum.
