Meeting in person produces more ideas than meeting on video
Engineers and students were paired to brainstorm, half in a room together, half over video. The in-person pairs generated significantly more ideas, and more creative ones. Eye-tracking showed why: on a screen we stare at the face and narrow our focus; in a room the gaze wanders, and so does the mind. For the work that needs new ideas, sit in the same room.
